The Japanese edition of HHhH by Laurent Binet has won “Hon’ya Taisho (Bookstore Awards)” in the translated books category. The awards were launched in 2004 to encourage the Japanese publishing market, and the winners are chosen by bookstore clerks’ votes (i.e. books that bookstore clerks love to sell most).
Dolfi et Marilyn by François Saintonge is 'flagship' title of Carl’s Books Fall catalogue 2014. The book will be released on September 8th.
Bernard-Henri Lévy’s play, HOTEL EUROPE, which premiered in Sarajevo on June 27th, and was staged in Venice at La Fenice on July 11th, will be performed by Jacques Weber at Théâtre de l’Atelier, in Paris, from September 9th 2014 to January 3rd 2015.
The “Internationaler Literaturpreis - Haus der Kulturen der Welt” is the leading German book award for a work-in-translation and this year's prize has gone to Beate Thill's translation of Dany Laferrière's L'ENIGME DU RETOUR (which has already done well in the prize-winning department elsewhere, including picking up the 2009 prix Médicis).
